Salgemma has promoted Mosche Bianche, an open call dedicated to artists and curators residing or developing their research in Apulia during 2024. The call, which aims to map the territory's artistic and curatorial resources, intends to transform local cultural practices into a shared critical and social value. Through Mosche Bianche, Salgemma aims to build a professional collectivity that overcomes isolation and promotes the recognition of Apulia's contemporary art scene.
What we did
Project management: We conceived and launched Mosche Bianche as a tool to valorize local talent, defining clear objectives and selection criteria to include artistsə and curatorsə in training, emerging and mid-career.
Communication and promotion: We activated an online and offline communication campaign to reach a wide network of potential participants, using social media, newsletters and collaborations with regional cultural bodies.
Facilitation of meetings: The project included a series of meetings between Bari and Lecce between April and May 2024, with critical exchange activities such as portfolio readings, presentations of curatorial research and small exhibition displays.
Networking and mentoring: We planned mentoring initiatives for emerging artists and networking activities to connect participants with industry professionals and territorial and extra-territorial partners.
Promotion of cultural policies: Mosche Bianche intends to contribute to the creation of innovative cultural policies for contemporary art, favouring the inclusion of new professionals in the regional relational territory.
